Competa is about 40 km east of Malaga. On leaving the airport, follow the signs for Malaga, soon after passing Toys ‘r’ Us on the opposite side of the road, take the exit for Antequera, Motril, Almeria. You should now be on the N-340. Stay on this road for about 30 minutes until junction 277 for Algorrobo.

Take this exit and at the bottom of the sliproad turn left at the roundabout, at the next roundabout head straight on following the signs for Competa. Stay on this road, passing through Algorobbo and Sayalonga for about 20 minutes.

At the edge of Competa take the right fork at the Tourist Information Office and head up the hill towards the town centre. You will pass a large free car park on your left, which is the closest parking for Casa Azahara. For the main square Plaza Almijara continue up the hill, following the road up to the right until you reach the church. ( It is possible to park here for loading and unloading only)

Opposite the church you will see a raised promenade decorated with flowerpots, follow the road, on foot, to the right of this promenade. This is Calle Carreteria and Casa Azahara is the second house on your right, with an old blue wooden door. Made it!!!
